baught an item off ebay, paid with paypal but clicked pay before i realised it was set to my bank account and not my credit card.
I had no money in the account, asi never ever use it. Now halifax have charged me £35 that is set to come out of my account next week. They say they wont reverse it because they have reversed a charge for me 2 years ago.
They say if i dont pay it , it will then be charged 28 pounds extra for going overdrawn.
This is all for the massive amount that paypal tried to take of £1.91!
Anyone got any ideas whati can do, because to be honest £35 is an absolute disgrace.
thanks
the reason i ask is because the lady on the phone was adamant i would have no luck in claiming because the cases are on hold or somthing, and was saying i have no choice but to pay it, if i dont she said i will get further charges and the oweing money could be passed on to debt collection!

Of course if the debt is in dispute then sending it to a debt collection agency will mean you will have fun telling the DCA's to send it back to Halifax as it is in dispute.
I do think you should have paid money into the account as soon as you realised which from the post appears to be almost immediately.
I think you need to start the process of reclaiming.0 -
cheers, ill get a letter off, i cant belive they charge so much for such a small price.Waddle you do eh?0

Whilst you do need to reclaim, bear in mind it's unlikely they will refund as a goodwill gesture and may treat it like the rest, i.e. on hold till the court case is over.
In case - you should, if you can afford to do so, credit your account with the £35 to cover the charge in the meantime. Check once it clears and make sure no other charges - keep your eye on that account every day for the next few weeks at least to make sure.
Otherwise you'll keep incurring more and more charges, can easily end up in the hundreds (ridiculous I know).
Better to pay now and get your refund later than incur more charges if it's at all possible.
Best wishes,
pippitypipI know I'm in my own little world, but it's ok - they know me here!
