Have you had anything back from them as yet? Also can you tell me where you sent the complaint to?

Back in 2006 we went to DFS and bought a single leather sofa, the salesman showed us a leather care kit that included a cleaner and conditioner along with some "special" cloths. We thought it was a good idea so we said yes.

The salesman said the care kit also came with "free" insurance against damage etc.

However, when the paperwork came through we though it was a bit odd that we seemed to have an insurance policy.

Whilst it wasnt' PPI as such, it was an insurance policy that was sold to us without our knowledge - Does anyone know if we're likely to be able to reclaim this?

In my opinion, like any other insurance, if mis sold and you were not aware that you had this, I would give it a go.

Found some details of DFS here below, if you have paperwork, check the company number if its on there as well.

    Name & Registered Office:

    DFS LIMITED
    129 QUEEN STREET
    MORLEY
    LEEDS
    WEST YORKSHIRE
    LS27 8HE

    Company No. 04132607

For more on reclaiming, with useful guidelines, templates a check list of mis selling reasons, here below on the link.

Check this through, if you require any help, post up, cheers and good luck.;)

I just checked and we dont have the paperwork anymore. It was a 12 month 0% deal that we settled at the end of the term. 12 months after that I shredded the paperwork :(

Who handles finance and insurance deals for DFS? I have already written to GE money requesting all info they hold on me and for some niggling little reason I think they did the DFS finance too?

If you no paperwork at all and taken this out over the last say 5 or 6 years, you could request a subject access request (SAR), where they should send everything they still hold on you, this may you may know whom to pursue this case with, its normally the ones that arranged and sold you the finance, but the lender can provide you with the SAR, as all the details of the sale are handed to the lender themselves, with the lenders agreement.

However, there is a charge of £10 postal order or cheque payment required for the SAR, and they have 40 days to comply.
I would post this by recorded delivery as well, and of course the link to the SAR Template letter on the link below:

With a SAR they "must" comply, is this what you sent, or a standard letter to request for the info?
