Fire rated downlights need firehood as well?

I intend to install low voltage fire rated downlights in my bathroom. The ceiling void is insulated - do I need to use fire hoods for each fire rated down light or is the fire reated downlight ok on its own ?

You do not need a fire hood for fire rated downlighters.

The fire rating/fire hood is to maintain the integrity of the fire barrier into the void above - please don't cover the fitting with the insulation, "fire rated" doesn't mean they no longer get hot!!

You require tin hoods if you wish to cover with insulation
