draining board

my parter and i are completing on our next BTL flat tomorrow, a new build in birmingham. exchanged off plan months ago. did the snagging on monday and i noticed there was no draining board! i find this a bit odd. the lady says the developers have not put one in because there is a dish washer!! i am i bit miffed about this but my partner is not that bothered. i know the developers were getting short of cash and are going to try and cut costs but this? i want to kick up a fuss before exchange but should i?

    I would

At the end of the day, you will have an NHBC builders gurantee on it oor similar. If you dont have a draining board, water will get into your units & stuff them. You should have at least a year for further snags?

Its simply not acceptable for the developer to cut such corners like this. It would also make me wonder what else hasnt been done. If you were a FTB would you feel any different.

Lynzpower - what do NHBC and FTB stand for? am new to this and not up with the lingo yet!!

Cabrioman - I would def kick up a fuss, it's just not right and does sound as if they have run out of money. I am in Brum and need a reliable wont-rip-me-off builder, architect and poss structural engineer for a house conversion (see thread in house buying/selling forum) any contacts you could pass on?

That's just stupid, not everything is suitable for dishwashing. That really is an example of cutting corners. I'm glad you mentioned it though as I am going to check I get 1 in my new build now.
