Integrated Washing Machine and Economy 7

Hey all

As mention in my previous post on here I have moved into a flat with Economy 7 Electric.

I am aware that it will be cheaper to run things at night, so had planned on using a timer switch to run the washing machine at night.

However, it is an integrate washing machine and there is just a switch on the wall to turn on, no plug in powerpoint.

So does this mean I can't use a timer switch at all? There is no delayed start on washing machine either.

TIA

  • Hi Tia,

We had a washing machine that was exactly the same, unfortunately we had to get up and put the washing on at the off peak time...

    Good luck

Could there be a plug behind the machine in which case you can take the dishwasher out and put a timer switch.

You could have a " hard wired " timer fitted.

Can you please elaborate on this?

    Thanks

It's a rented property so I don't want to fiddle too much! But the electrician is coming Weds for another matter so I'll ask him for advice too.

    Thanks

Sorry I meant the washing machine...AFAIK integrated appliances are like the freestanding ones with doors on them, as in not in a cabinet, so you can slide them out, but yeah good idea to check with an electrician!
