phishing emails to Amazon Sellers

I listed an item on Amazon last week and received an email asking a question about the product, I didn't see a 'reply' button in the Amazon email, but the email address of the asker was listed twice in the email, so I responded by clicking it and emailing directly, this gave the asker my email address.

Here's the email I found in my spam folder today:

If you read the email is pretty easy to spot as there are some pretty poor spelling errors, so my advice is to always go to the Amazon site using your own link and not one provided in an email, and look at your sales there before posting anything. Maybe I was targeted as its my first listing on Amazon.

There is no need for
you to do anything apart from post the item to the buyer.

With all the books I have sold on Amazon it doesn't tell you the address to dispatch to in the email, it says you have to log in to your account to get the address (admittedly I don't know if this is the case for electricals, but it seems likely), so the fact the address is there in the email for you is a big flashing warning sign to me (ignoring everything else in the email as well).

Just so you know in case you get a scammer who can spell (you would think they would learn, they would catch so many more people if they could actually write legible emails...)

It is very difficult to scam anyone on Amazon since as has been pointed out by Ebany you can only get the address once you log into Amazon. No need to check headers or anything.

If you're new to Amazon then don't forget as well that you need to confirm shipment now when you send things otherwise you don't get paid. I think that is just another way though to remind us that we need to log in and confirm the details before we ship.

There is an Amazon sellers thread on the ebay and other auctions board that you may find itneresting.

price to help cover shipping costs.. "

    .

Actually, you don't have to use the Charge When Ship function at the moment (unless they have already made this compulsory for new Amazon sellers?) - I am still getting the payment from Amazon direct to my Amazon account as soon as the sale is made, rather than when I ship.
