Woohoo - the bathroom suite has arrived, and it looks lovely. Just need to fit it now, and economise enough to afford the tiles, etc. The boys are busy making an agility course for the collie with the pallets now.
Can't take credit for someone elses ideas. The snack box thing was on here a long time ago, probably in the early days of fly lady. Someone was complaining about teens eating everything and one of the suggestions was to buy cheap plastic crates (got good sized ones with lids in poundland - big enough for packets of biscuits but not too big to store), write names on, and then once a week divvy out the snacks for the week then it is up to them to control what they have. No re-fills if the box is empty, no helping yourself to other peoples stuff. I gave the bigger ones the choice of what they wanted to have in but only on a high level - so a request for chocolate got penguins as they are on offer this week for example. SS1 eats a lot of cereal bars (a whole packet in a day!) - so he gets 7 for the week, if he eats them all on day one he has to have cereal instead like normal people, etc, etc. Went down well with the teens too, cos at least they know what they can eat now. I am happier cos no one is eating stuff belonging to the littles and, although it is still strictly speaking fundamentally unecessary spending, it has cut costs.
Congrats to all those with good results.

ewww...
I have just scrubbed the inlet bit for the WM - despite the fact that I clean the WM and wash the drawer and leave it ajar it has still gone black and slimy. next wash will be a hot towel wash so I have scrubbed the gunk off. Just having a :coffee: then I will wash the cat litter tray...isn't life glamorous?
Once that's done the bathroom will be a doddle.
Hugs Zoe...I had my exH 'done' - they offered to do me while they got DD out but I figured he 'deserved' a bit of intervention. bet he was glad though when he was single again...
DS wants a laptop for his birthday I am going to try to inveigle a generous contribution from his dad.. wish me luck!Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
