I haven't paid my council tax for a while but i have explained to the council and they will start talking money from my JSA per week, i can survive of JSA just now so it is hard to say if i am in actual hardship, i mean never have any moniey but am i actually in hardship?

I just had another charge put on and phoned them and they wont refund it, i was about £1 over. So they have given me 5 refunded charges over the last 4 years i think, i know you should only get 3 goodwills but they have done 5. But no more. Not like i get charged a lot i think i have had 2 or 3 this year. But i do have quite a few from a few years ago, maybe £800 in all over 5 years..0 -
Do you have priority debt arrears(mortgage/rent, council tax, utilities)?I just had another charge put on and phoned them and they wont refund it, i was about £1 over. How important is the wording of the hardship letter you send in, this is what i have, does it look ok, i didn't open my account on the 27st july 2001 as the template states but just kept it in...?I am writing to request that you repay all the default charges that have been applied to my account since 27 July 2001 and stop adding any further charges to my account. I do not believe these charges reflect the true cost to the xxxxxxxx of going into unauthorised overdraft.
I rely on means tested benefits for my income and this has been set by the government as the minimum amount of money someone needs to live on and as a result I greatly struggle to pay my council tax ,utility bills and other living necessities.
The charges total £xxx. I believe I have been unlawfully deprived of the money and therefore ask that you repay me the full amount. I have attached a full schedule of the charges with this document.
I look forward for a full response to this letter within 14 days.
Yours faithfully,0 -

Depends who your trying to claim off, Lloyds are near impossible to get anything off they are breaking rules and laws i think.
I think your wording is fine if you tell them your claiming for unfair treatment from the bank as you get JSA to live on by law at the minimum amount, you are in the same situation as me, i am not sure if you would get hardship though, i am very curious about the law saying it is the minimum amount to live on and look for jobs with, but the bank think it is to pay them with. - i am not sure mate keep asking about the forum someone will know.Owed out = lots. :cool:0 -
I was on JSA *and* housing benefit this time last year when I reclaimed using hardship.
They sent me a form to fill in to verify that I was really in hardship. I didn't bother!
So that's what they're likely to say to you...0 -

If you don't fill in in the forms then under the FSA Waiver they can say NO because they have insufficient information.I was on JSA *and* housing benefit this time last year when I reclaimed using hardship.
