:mad::mad::mad::mad:I changed to EDF last year,Npower hung on and hung on with the Gas supply until Feb 09.My last electric bill was £60, and the bill stated i was£ 230 in credit.I thought great that would pay my gas bill when the final bill arrives. When it did arrive the bill was £521,which i thought was high but they had taken the £230 off and they said i still owed £207 .I started paying this monthly as i could not afford to clear it in one go.
I then received a bil saying i owed £521 and when i rang up,they could not understand and after months they said it was a mis type and they would produce another bill.
They treatened me with Debt recovery even though i was paying the £207 off.I downloaded the bills off my Npower account which it says in black and white that i had £230 in credit, but they still dont get it(the bills have now been taken off my account on Npower website)but i have copies.
It wasnt untill i said i was going to the press and ofcom that they put me onto their complaints dept, but you guessed it they dont get it either.Where do you think they stand legally ?
If i get no joy next week then im going to the press about it,after all they where being investgated for poor customer services last year.
any ideas people,thanks

PS, Im willing to go to court if i have to:p:p:p:p:p:p:mad::mad::mad::mad:

Your local trading standards office may be able to help. I had a similar situation with a mobile phone contract and the trading standards people were great.

Good luck, I wish you all the best with this.
