Insulation using plastic bottles

Has anyone tried this or even heard of it? My OH has started saving bottles...I am not convinced!!

If you have not already got lots of insulation, then it is about time that you had.I can afford anything that I want.

If you're talking about filling your loft with plastic bottles, then I'm not sure what your insurer's will say in the event of a house fire-plastic bottles would be a major fire and fume hazard.
But then you probably wouldn't still be around to worry about it.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

Heard on the radio that somebody had built a greenhouse out of loads (over a thousand) of plaggy bottles. And a few months back somebody had made a solar panel out of old beer bottles (that was somewhere 3rd-worldy though).0

we bought insulation made from recycled plastic bottles...lots less horrible to use than rockwool tooPeople seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.
