We've just come back from Skeggy Butlins. I don't know what the apartments are like as we were half board but I really would not recommend the standard accomodation! The standard rooms are truly horrific!
We had mouldy cupboards, severe condensation/damp and best of all big cockroaches :eek::eek: We had the chance to upgrade before we went but didn't want to spend the extra money! Big mistake! The damp made all our clothes smell musty and none of the swimming stuff dried properly. Have stayed in silver in the past and would definitely recommend them!
Apart from the room (which was pretty miserable!) we had a brilliant week!
Hope you have a fab holiday!

Did you not complain anna?
I have stayed in gold and it was fab, really nice accommodation in three storey buildings, and a separate dining room purely for gold customers as we were half board.:hello:0 -
ive stayed in the standard s/c and its abismal ,the sofa was thread bare the walls had had chunks taken out of them + not repaired overall it looked uncared for and dirty, its put me off butlins ever again. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. We stayed in Silver a few years back and the standard of accomadation was fantastic!!
Lots of room and really nice and clean.
My friend stayed in standard the same time we were there and it was truely awful!!!:rotfl: Big Momma to 5 kids:rotfl:
Always looking at ways to save money or earn it!!!
Now could always sell a few kids;)0 -
I have to say having stayed in the Silver accommodation at Skegness a few years ago I was very pleased with the quality of the accommodation. Best decision we made especially when we walked past the concentration camp looking standard accommodation that even looked abysmal from the outside with condensation on the windows and grubby curtains.
I wouldn't get my husband back to Butlins full stop cause we found it very chavtastic but its saving grace was our silver two bed apartment accommodation. I'd rather not go on holiday that use the standard accommodation though!!
One thing I would add is that if you are going half board then try and upgrade to Gold cause their restaurant is much better. The silver half board was the worst part of our holiday, food very repetitive and it was like feeding time at the zoo with a few hundred rude chavs.0 -
UPGRADE NOW!!!!!
silver is a good deal but don't go to standard!0 -
I've stayed in standard apartments twice now , and whilst its basic , we had no complaints - maybe we were just lucky !0
