Tobacco Online

Options
Hi,
I've noticed a couple of websites are selling Tobacco at what appears to be *really* cheap prices (£4.39 for a 50g pouch if you buy 10 or more) namely tobaccoonline.co.uk and tobaccoking.com

This seems to be too good to be true, so I wondered, has anyone here tried these websites? Are they legit and safe to order from (neither of them looks very professional) Are they legal even?

Cheers
S

Is it legal to buy tobacco over the internet from another European Community country?

Yes, but ONLY if the UK VAT and excise duty is paid on the goods. The person who sells the goods must make arrangements for these taxes to be paid before they are sent to you. If you are a customer, it is in your interests to ensure this has been done, otherwise the goods are liable to forfeiture by Customs at the postal depot.

I ordered from this company 2 weeks ago and still nothing. Am beginning to think I have been taken for a ride. The order says it has not yet been shipped so why oh why do they take your money before they ship?? Not good!!

    try www.tobaccospecialists.co.uk

Not a huge range, but cheap for tobacco.

I have used them 3 or 4 times and they are very good. They are based in the UK too (Blackburn) so no problems with customs.

Postage is only £1 atm, but I always pay 75p extra for recorded delivery.
If you order before 12 noon they post the same day, second class but my orders have never taken more than 2 days to arrive.

One thing to note, when I order my tobacco the web sites always indicates that it is out of stock. The first time I emailed them to ask when it is in stock, and they said it was in stock and would be despatched. So now I ignore the out of stock stars and my order always arrives.

If you do order something, and it has 3 red starts next to it, indicating the item is out of stock, just email them and ask before paying for the item.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, this is the only commercial site I have ever allowed to post one of my emails as a testimonial.

Looks a bit dodgy to me.

All the sellers claim their tobacco complies with labelling regulations. But what are the labelling regulations?

They also claim their tobacco carries the "fiscal duty mark". I haven't looked into it much, but suspect this mark indicates that UK duty has been paid on the tobacco.

However, I found out that tobacco products MUST NOT carry the fiscal duty mark if they are imported for personal use, and they MUST NOT carry the fiscal duty mark if they are exported from the UK.

The two sellers I looked at were based in Belgium and claimed their tobacco was made in the UK, flown to Belgium, then posted to the buyers.

So, the tobacco is made in the UK and exported to Belgium, so it MUST NOT carry the fiscal duty mark. It is them sent back to the UK for personal use, so it MUST NOT carry the fiscal duty mark.

One of the sellers also stated that if the customs and excise people nab your baccy you will be responsible for paying the tax/duty. Not in those exact words.

The other seller did not mention this, but he was called "Del Boy", but has changed his name to "Hooky Street".

I suspect he really wanted to change his name to "Only Fools", but thought better of it.

Of course its dodgy. any 'cheap' tobacco is dodgy

But its alot safer than buying from various other sites.
Pay using the cqout escrow service and any payments are fully covered.

Most of the sellers post from within the Uk so it doesnt even pass through customs.

Ive been buying from there for the last year without a single problem.

I want to quit smoking. Has anyone tried the 'herbal' tobacco? I'm thinking that nicotine free ones with patches may help!¬
If google doesn't know it, how should i?
