Me and my sister clubbed together to buy my father a flying lesson. We have a small airport nearby, an hour flight with a lesson in the office beforehand cost about £50. He loved it.
some people grin and bear it, others smile and do it :)

The idea is a great one - i would love it. But he is terrified of flying ever since he was in a plane and it dropped 1000's of feet! rare occasion but you wont get him in a plane again!
He has recently become a pc lover after never using one so we are thinking about a digital camera....especially as he and MIL are buying a house in Spain soon so can email us photos then!

what about a skype headset/mike and or webcam espec if spending time in Spain. My in laws went to Dubai for three months and it was great to stay in touch in a more personal way than just emailing.

For my Dad's 60th my sister and I paid for him to spend the day flying birds of prey. he loved it! We've also paid for him to spend the day with the keepers at Colchester Zoo in the past and he done the driving thing!
