    That will go some way in making up for them being around 40% dearer that the cheapest on-line dual fuel deals.

  • Yes, they are more expensive than others, but the company buys most of it's electricity from small scale suppliers and home micro-generation, they also own their own wind farm which I believe is due for expansion.

    Sometimes if you want to be green you have to pay that bit more...i guess the price will come down over time when normal elec goes after of fashion.

    Unfortunately you can't rely on the wind blowing when the advertisements come on at the end of Coronation street, and half the country puts the kettle on.
    There have to be a mix of energy technologies to ensure continuity of supply.

  • I agree, there probably does need to be a mix in general, I just don't think we've got anywhere near close enough to the right mix yet. It doesn't take much wind to generate electricity and we have plenty of it in the UK (and it's also free!!)
