Registry help please

I can't install the MS Office etc. updates (windows XP updates Ok) as it says I need activeX, but there is never a way to download it, under the address bar like it says in the error message.

You don't want to install it - you want to repair it.... well, you may want to try a repair first. However, you will then need to reapply SP2 and SP3, so before you try a repair, you might want to slipstream your CD with SP2 and SP3 together. And you absolutely must back up your files/data first.

This is one of the very best guides to repairing XP. At the foot of that page there are links to guides to creating a slipstream.

Thanks for that. I have to admit, it's been a while since I created my slipstreamed CD and I'm now on Vista anyway - but appreciate you adding your link for others who have a greater need :beer:
