Not really sandblasting is or using chemicals is only option masonry paint tends to sink into the masonry
Try repainting probably need several coats of good quality paint like Dulux weathershield

Unless it's a small area you'll never get it all off, and if you do then it will need repointing probably. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Its a 5 brick deep band along the bottom of the rear wall of the house
My mum ( when she was in her early stages of alzheimer's ) decided to pain the rear step red ,accidentally got some paint on the wall ,so decided to 'cover it up' by painting the bottom of the house:rolleyes:0 -
if shes used the correct masonary paint then itll be almost impossible to get it all off cleanly.
better to paint it some color you actually like!Get some gorm.0 -
If your paints flakey you could try using some paint removal stuff and a pressure washer and a soft wire brush, but theres no guarantee.
Ive come across walls that are painted and then someone decides they would like them plastered which means taking the paint off before plastering and it aint no easy job, u end up chipping it off with a chipping hammer os using a power tool with an abrasive disc, of course these methods are surely going to cause cosmetic damage.
Tbh i dont think there is a easy way to do this without damage to the brickwork.MOVE ALONG........ nothing to see here..!

I've used the masonry paint stripper from the link in Antispam's post. They do 2 types and sell small trial packs for £8 inc postage. It was only moderately successful, certainly didn't remove all traces, but didn't damage the surface brickwork0

Try a trial area first. If not successful then just repaint that area again. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Knowing my luck ,even in her confuzzled state ,she would have used the correct paint:rolleyes:
will try the stripper and if all else fails ,repaint in a slightly less offensive colour ,thought never occurred to me to repaint ,never realised you could get a wide range of colours.
thankoo:D0
