Hello to all here you are doing a grand job and hope you can carry it on with some advice for me as well
Wages are £300 a week after tax
I will do out goings on a weekly basis(or at least in theory anyway)
Week 1
Rent + Bills £75
Dad £30 for a loan he took out for me(finishes Sep '08)
Loan £25 Welcome Finance-had to consilidate when I moved in with my g/f(finishes Sep '08)
Loan £50 for HGV training which wil lead to better paid job(finishes Aug '08)
Orange £5 by arrangement total owed £130
Shopping £15
Diesel £10
Squash £10
Total £220
Week 2
Rent £75
Dad £30
Loan £25
Orange £5
Three phonebill £50
Shopping £15
Diesel £10
Squash £10
Total £220
Week 3
Rent £75
Dad £30
Loan £25
Orange £5
Car Insurance £50
Shopping £15
Diesel £10
Squash £10
Total £220
Week 4
Rent £75
Dad £30
Loan £25
Orange £5
Ntl £50(includes sky, sports telephone and broadband)
Shopping £15
Diesel £10
Squash £10
Total £220
If there is a week 5 as there sometimes are then in theory it SHOULD look like this
Dad £30
Loan £25
Orange £5
Now that means a normal month will see me earn £1200 and pay out around £800 on the bills before my diesel and sqaush and shopping, I also have to fit in monthly payments to 2 catalogues as well
I am getting increasingly depressed about the whole matter, niether I or my g/f ever have any money to put aside and do anything nice with. We have a holiday booked for june 10th paid for by my parents for a xmas prezzie but we have no money saved and I cant see how we are gonna have any either. My work place have been !!!!!! about my holiday and said I can't have it and if I go then I lose my job  Now I have a week to take before I go on holiday so I am using that to do my HGV provided I pass my theory test a week tomorrow(and I'm so not prepared
) and if I pass then great BUT I will miss a weeks money for the week i'm away and wont be getting it back from anywhere either as far as I can see. I have quit smoking in a bid to have more money but I still dont have any and just when I think i'm getting on top of my finances something comes up and BANG it's all gone to pot again. y mums B-Day is coming up so my dad decided him myself and my bro will buy my mum a sat nav and wants £50 for that even though I have told him i've got no cash, I have my car tax coming up at the end of May before my holiday and that will cost £100 and it fel like its about to colapse as it is I hope it doesnt die any time soon.
My dad has a job lind up for me come September at his place of work for Calor Gas and my wages should go up to around £380-450 after tax but until then I don'yknow what I can do, I'm getting stressed out cause I hate my job and when I come home I am forever thinking about how crap my life is financially it's one big visous circle.
Another bug I have is Nottingham Forest, I have spent money I havent got on a ticket for Bradford away on the last day of the season as if we make the play-offs I couldn't bear not being there after following them all over the country for yet another year(even though I can't afford it )
I wil be glad in a way football is over for a few months bar the World Cup as I cant resist the going out and getting bladdered all day long:cool:
Anyway debts as they stand now are
Dad 3,690
Welcome 2,400
Additions catalogue 600
LX catalogue 140
HGV Loan 1400
Orange 130
I also owe my dad about 3k for what he has given me to help me out but he says he will wait however long it takes to actually get it back when I can afford it.
Thanks for any advice sorry about the long wind post i've had a few beers to help with the depression.

Hello mate. Sorry everything feels crap at the moment...but things will get better with the help of this site and in particular the fine folk on this forum!
People more skilled than I will be along soon to start giving more constructive advice (I still don't feel that qualified to do so...!) but please, dig out your best positive thinking trousers because you can turn this around. You have a goal and a very supportive & patient Father - they are blessings!
Please keep checking back for more posts. I think there is a programme on tv at the moment "Spendaholics" which a lot of people are watching......can you think why?Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.
Sainsburys Loan: Cleared July 2010
Credit cards: AMEX Airmiles Card: direct debit set to clear balance monthly

Hi there
Welcome to DFW and don't apologise for the long post. You have asked for help and you need to give all the information so that people have the full picture.
Somone will be along shortly to offer some advice.
Chin up
:heartpuls CG :heartpulsEver wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.0 -
LOL I was gonna mention Spendaholics too!!!! And I'm watching it too!

I can say though....the first things people are going to mention are the phone bills, the footie & drinking.......so prepare yourself!Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.

Hi there
Spendaholics jsut finished, I am back LOL
If there is any way you can restructure it to monthly, that would really help us out here, its so tricky to be able to see whats monthly, whats weekly etc.
If you could do this, that would realy help
And :hello::beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
And perhaps the holiday, squash and ntl...Ever wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.0

Rent and bills 300
Dad 120
Loan 100
HGV loan 50
Orange 10
Shopping 60
Diesel 40
Squash 40
Three 50
Car ins 50
NTL 50
TOTAL £870
So you have £330 to service your debts.
If there's a week 5, then you pay out £60 but get in £300, giving you an extra £240 for that week to throw at your debts, and this will happen four times a year.
So, you have a resonable amount of play with.
You can cut back on NTL, Three, squash and possibly car insurance.
Things are not as bad as you think.:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

Have you kept a spending diary. Most enlightening for me. I suspect you dont feel like you have any surplus, hence you being here! Its probably being frittrered ( and I would know) every newspaper, chewing gum, bar of chocolate etc, tot it all up! Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? I am trying to cut back on three, it should only be around £40 this month, car insurance I doubt as I have 3 points, otherwise it would be down to £40ish and I can't give up squash, I am tying to lose my beer gut as I used to be a very fit lad when I was younger and let myself go and with squash the weight is falling off and i'm feeling fit, which I havent done in a long time,
£330 sounds a lot of money to last for a month but I just can not seem to control my spending and I can't see where my money is going. I try to ive myself £100 a week but even then I find I have no money come Tuesday??0 -
Spending diary - that's the key as suggested. Get a little notebook and write down everything you spend for the next month. Then youll see where it's going.
How old are you? I am 31 and have three points and pay £230 for my car insurance, with four years' no claims. That's with Tesco, and they also give you a £20 gift card so that's like a week's free food as well. Worth shopping around. DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j
