Ironically, I get phone calls for Devon and Cornwall police with irritating regularity. A couple of years back, I selected an 0845 number for my window cleaning business. I make nothing from it. In fact it costs me to receive calls. I only took it because there was a possibility of me moving eventually and I didn't want to scramble around after the move informing hundreds of people of my new number. So I just gradually put the new number out over several years and when the move day arrives, all I have to do is point the 0845 at my new number. Events have superceded this and I will not be moving. Anyway, the 0845 number that I selected bears a similarity to the one used by Devon and Cornwall police.
Early on I had a couple of calls from different people going into some odd details indicating something criminal. I just suggested that they phone the police. This was before I realised what had happened with the number. I even had a probation officer leave a message about a named person on my voicemail (though no other details about the person). Serious breach there I think. So far, I have resisted the temptation to pretend to be a copper. Apart from any other issues, it is illegal. However, I did excel myself once. It was about 4 AM and some woman phoned me up to tell me they had found a knife that she thought belonged to some male of her acquaintance. She asked me what she should do. I was so peed off at being awoken that I just said something like "Stab the effing !!!!!!" and put the phone down before switching it off.
So I can see the next complaint from this person being something like
"I phoned the police and they just kept asking me where I lived so they could give a price to clean my windows"

Therefore STILL not done much in the way of sorting the house out. Had to entertain little DD with Santa Claus the movie whilst working. Must crack on after lunch or it'll be soon time to do my one and only school pick up of the week! On a positive, it's very sunny here, so the sheets are in!!!
