  • That doesnt sound like a good enough excuse to me Paul, cant you win the lottery or something ??:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    Mumof4 xx

    I wish.
Funnily enough, if I were to win a sum of a bit over 100 grand, I wouldn't touch the unsecured debt with it. I would pay off the mortgage instead. I know that might not make sense with the present interest rates but most of my card debt is a reasonable deal LOB.

  • Mary Clancy goes up to Father O' Grady after his Sunday
morning service, and she's in tears.
He says, " So what's bothering you, Mary my dear?"
She says, "Oh, Father, I've got terrible news . My
    husband passed away last night."
The priest says, "Oh, Mary, that's terrible. Tell me, Mary,
did he have any last requests?"
She says, "That he did, Father."
The priest says, "What did he ask, Mary? "
She says, "He said, 'Please Mary, put down that damn gun...':p

Apologies in advance Jo - but PAD of £1 til Friday:o
(Promise I won't let you down before the end of the month though ;))

    BTW - who's counting for October?

Sadly, my no-spend month has been ki-boshed today.
"New" car needs a service and a lovely timing belt, which I suspected.
This will cost the princely sum of £400:eek: - new car/same carp:rolleyes:

Hope all's well with everyone - school sounds a bit hard though Danko!
I was drinking with a teacher friend of mine last night (and she is a drinker too - now I know why!:rotfl:)

Sorry to hear about the extra expense.
If a car has gone past the point where the belt(s) need changing and there is no record of such a change being made, it's better to opt for caution and get it done because if it breaks it is mega costly (sometimes a mechanical write-off in an older car).

Thanks Paul. Yes, I know. It's false economy not to have it changed and as it's been well looked after up to now, it is worth it.

On a positive note, my old car I was going to Ebay, but now I think there's a chance I can get a new engine and due to used cars increasing in price, possibly make back £1000, which would make me very happy and be a nice PAD too! :T
