Evening all
I have got my hand on a computer from work its not the best in the world but more up to date than mine, Problem being some bright spark has unplugged every wire that goes into the mother board. as there is no manual i have no idea what so ever where all these wires should go.
Is there a web site for people like me that can show me step by step?
All help needed thank you

Usually on the front/back of the case on a sticker or there should be a model number actually printed on to the motherboard.I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0

Download PC Wizard or Belarc Advisor and they'll detect the make and model of your motherboard (mainboard).

Valid point, should have thought of that.
If you open the case the make and model of the motherboard is usually engraved somewhere on it.

to be honest it looks like it has been built by IT at work.
on the mother board there is a gold square that says GIGABYTE i asume thats not it as there is no model number
the onley other thing i can see is in the top left hand corner where the mains would plug in is a box that says codegen model 300x:beer: LOVE LIFE PROCEED & PROGRESS0 -
Gigabyte is one of the major motherboard brands so that's a start. If you cant see a model number you might have to take the CPU heatsink off and see what the processor is. That would help narrow it down further.
