Wrong environmental search

We got our search back today, only problem is it is not our house. It is the right house on the covering letter, wrong one on the search info. So they either swapped the two searches or gave the wrong information. My OH called and they said to pop it back in the post and they will find the right one for us. Now do you think we should keep hold of the survey in case ours does not, as an insurance type of thing or should we turn it over and hope that ours turns up?

It's of no use to you and the real buyer is probably waiting for it, so hand it over.
Presumably you have other evidence that you are "owed" this survey e.g. the covering letter, so that should be sufficient.
Probably a simple mistake - I can't see anything sinister going on, so no need for "insurance".
