I took some old pieces of gold to a jewellers today and got £37 so was well pleased . It was just some broken earrings and a twisted ring , which should of been in the bin but because it was "real" gold I just couldn't dump it . I have £32 in paypal so not a bad start aswell.

    WE CAN DO IT xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    Hi Seashell

I need to do this too, but I'm a bit nervous about it. I have a white gold eternity ring, probably not worth much but I'm never going to wear it again so not much is fine... reason I'm nervous is that an ex gave it to me and he was known for stratching the truth (til it was well and truly broken), so could be tin with glass in. I'm scared it is and they'll laugh at me :o

    So anyway is it easy?

  • Morning everyone. £2.5 extra from me today.

    Extra payment = £2.50
    Remaining Target = £195.50
This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
    Fingers crossed x
  • Hi Always,

I've traded gold in as well, and I wouldn't be scared, they will want your business so think it is unlikely they would laugh at you. I would approach them with a "I'm thinking of selling this gold ring, but am asking around for quotes"

That way you're not committed to sell it if they offer you too little. Someone told me that if it is magnetic then its not gold, but not sure if that's true or not! :rotfl: x

  • £18.31 from Play.com was in my account this morning, plus I have been transferring the odd bits of change from my current account so I'm off the mark and I currently have paid £22.79. Well done everyone, what a good start we're all having!

  • Oh my word, all of you are amazing :j Just keeping up with your payments just now are keeping me busy. Yesterdays total payed was £867.75 :j So well done all those who made a payment. Cant believe you are all doing so well :D

Have a great Wednesday all
  • Well having been paid I've squeezed as much from my SOA as possible and think that if I really put my mind to it I can pay an extra £699.22 off this month from my salary in addition to the minimum. I don't want to pay it off all at once though just in case something unforseen happens and so I'm hoping to pay 1/4 of it off every Wednesday for the next four weeks to take me through to my next pay day.

    So, £174.81 + £1.50 (from a free bingo win) = £176.31 paid off today:j.
    Debt at LBM (May 2007) - £32,891

I think your challenge will be keeping up with who's repaid what :D

Just looked at the first page and I think it's really nice that you're working out what people have left to pay off their challenge amount.

I shall make sure I work that out for you in future to save you the bother.
