I agree the points raised by DFC. But it is the shops who are paying the LL's and they must have some clout with the LL's. these are not penny halfpenny corner shops, but huge national chains. Especially at the present time when there are many vacant shop premises. They will not be stirred into action until they feel it in their takings..I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -

It seems I am a letter in front of you.
These are the details of the latest letter which I received this morning.
Has anybody got to this stage or further and what was the outcome?
I received a letter from Excel Parking stating that a ticket had been issued to my vehicle and a demand for £100.
I followed the instructions on this site and issued them with a letter stating that I was not the driver and that I didn't have to tell them who was.
I then received another letter saying that they had been successful in court in pursuing parking invoices (the same letter as you stating that I am bound by law to know who is driving my vehicle etc etc blah blah.
I wrote back telling to stop harrassing me.
Today I have received a letter stating "Further to your correspondence where you have confirmed that you would like this matter to proceed to court". ............. At no time have I sent any correspondence stating this. The only correspondence I have sent is the standard letters available on this site.
They state that there are certain procedures that they have to follow prior to Court Action. They say that they are now going to issue me with a final demand and then if I do not pay that the matter will be passed to their Debt Recovery Agents. Who will deal with the outstanding charge on their behalf.
The letter goes on to say "Unfortunately, we are unable to proceed with Court Action without first passing this matter to Debt Recovery, therefore if you are unhappy with this matter being passed to debt recovery, we can only recommend that you pay this charge".
Has anybody reading this had dealings of this manner with this organisation or others similar?0 -

The usual response is something along the lines of "We only rent the shop space from the retail park, and car parking issues are the responsibility of the managing agents, you'll have to take it up with them."
I have established that it is not anything to do with stores. The landowners, who the store rents from, employ the services of these sharks.0 -
