I've tried searcing on this topic as I seem to recall something beiung posted previously but had no luck...
Their Gold savings account pays 8%. However, am I right that only people living in certain postcodes can apply? Sounds a bit discriminatory to me!

Just had a look on thier site and I didn't see anything about geographical limititations to membership (like what Ipswitch and a few others operate)
The general terms and conditions can be found here if you want to wade through them. http://www.npbs.co.uk/savings/general-conditions-for-savinginvestments.asp0 -
And for those that hadn't heard of this account, like myself, a quick summary is:To qualify for the 8% gross/AER3 savings rate, you need to transfer between a minimum of £20 and up to a maximum of £250 into your Gold Savings Account every month for a full 12 months. In addition, you need to pay at least £1,000 into your Gold Current Account every month for the same period.
I don't like the 1k pay-in very much. A&L regular saver is far better at 10% and with only a £500 monthly pay in required (for the current account), so only bother with this one if you already have the A&L one.
I think, for the sake of the 1k, I'd even prefer the halifax 7% one, as that requires no other funds to be paid in besides the amount regularly saved.
As for the postcode question.. I can't see anything about it in their terms. Call them or even better, get them to call you free (from online request).0 -
