Can I exchange a bag

Hi

In May I purchased a Gola bag from Schuh for my daughter for her to use as a school bag.

The bag has split below the stitching, not on the stitching, very near to the strap.

I have no receipt, am I legally entitled to an exchange? The overall condition of the bag is fair, taking into account it is a bit grubby from school use.

Many thanks for any advice.

Theoretically you don't need a receipt, just a 'proof of purchase'.
Obviously a receipt is your best proof of purchase, but have you anything else?
Credit card statement, if you used CC.
Bankstatement if you used debit card.

    Well worn eh?
Could shop say it has been misused?
Sounds like it may be a fashion accessory which may not be built for kicking around a playground.
