What is the problem with 'high-risk area' Home Branch???

Hi all,
I'm getting alot of frustration from Lloyds TSB recently... I have been with them for some time and found their service to be good generally.
However, I need my July/August bank statement urgently and it seems to be taking forever to arrive... I called them up, went down to the branch to ask if I could get them to print out a statement then and there; or if I could print it out and they get someone to certify it....
The answer for all of those was NO!!! You would think they would trust their OWN people to verify, or even better, print out statements.
I was told this is because my home branch is in a 'high-risk area' basically east london... hmmm, which gives me the feeling that the banks er... profile people according to their home branches?
I am thinking of opening NEW accounts with Lloyds closer to my home (I am living in central london now).... does it make sense?
Cheers
Jon

London would be a high risk fraud area, so they would have to send out a statement directly to you.
Have you confirmed that the address is correct including the post code?
Have you had any problems with your post recently(apart from postal strikes)?
It's people being profiled but more likely the area based on statistical information. All banks are similar, I would suspect.0 -
That sounds like nonsense to me. The bank is saying "you can't have a statement of your own bank account (with the customer standing in front of them, presumably with id) but we are happy to post it to some postal address where it may or may not be picked up by the actual customer" ??
More like the bank doesn't trust their own staff in London branches to check ID properly.0 -

I have found most banks do it. Not just ones based in London.0 -

No. They profile branches that way. I used to be in a branch that was profitable but was closed down as it was too high risk.
Were they saying no to providing you a printout mini statement or were they saying no to certifying it?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). You can print out statements from Lloyds online banking pages.0
