Buying a three year one gives a handy discount.0

You could try this one, gives a 10% discount so the price is reduced to £23.40

Ooo ok cool will try that thank you. Unfortunately a 3 year one even though saves money isnt viable as I will only be using train this year to get to college as I drive and rarely train it.0

I can confirm that this works but unfortunately it won't work for the three year version.0 -

But a three year one at £65 works out at £21.66 a year... a bigger discount.
And the great thing about a three year card is that you are protecting yourself from three year's worth of price increases.0 -
Time your purchases so that whatever cards you buy eventually expire the day before your 27th birthday.0

From the Railcard website...Now you can also buy a 3-year 16-25 Railcard, available only online. It’s great value at £65, saving you an extra £13 on the cost of renewing your 1 year Railcard for three consecutive years. You can buy this 3-year Railcard up until the day before your 24th birthday.
So as Quentin says... "time your purchases carefully".0 -

This is true. But personally I haven't used the train since my card expired in February and have only just found the need to buy one again. So I saved myself a few months there. It all depends on individual use of course0
