    OK z, how does it work? Do I just need to plug the card into reader and have attached to laptop? Is it likely to make things worse if it doesn't work?

    You plug card into reader. Say "No" when windows says your card is corrupted and that it needs to format it, depth-charge the whales, cremate the rain forests and start thermonuclear war - in that "no sense of proportion" way that windows has.

    Run the program (which you have previously installed on your hard disk). Then scan the card and attempt to pull as many of the pictures as possible off it onto your hard disk. The process will not change data on your card.

    Review the pictures (if any) and then come back here.
