I've got to start some serious training for The Great North Run in 4 weeks time.
I've planned out a 10 mile route on walkjogrun for tomorrow!

Sally what's the best thing to eat before a half marathon and how long before should you eat?
    ...Linda xx

    Linda
I would have a good bowl of porridge or weetabix (something full of energy) about 3 hours before the race and then you can eat bananas as close to race as you want as they don't tend to cause stitch. Make sure you are really hydrated but be prepared for horrendously long toilet queues. Am very jelous you have a place..maybe next year I might do it!

Buffy I hate clutter and mess and it drives me insane so I have to be on the go constantly to keep things reasonably ok. I think also if I don't keep busy I eat so am trying to stop that. I do love my evenings when I sit on the sofa and do diddly squat though! :)

Have been to the tip, made a worm farm with DD, walked to town posted stuff and taken shirts back to M&S
Next task is to get up in the loft and put stuff away in DD's keep box (bits she has done at pre-school, photos, cards etc that she can do what she wants with later in life)
    Then I must cook supper

I feel happy when I have achieved something in a day..I don't have a job which I need to achieve in so I guess doing stuff at home kind of makes up for that?

Me thinks she will be popping in quite a lot TBH Sammy. She needs her mummy still and will rely on you more than you think!

Was she really quiet in labour then or are you being sarcastic?

No sarcasm there Sally, after the initial demanding of a c-section and angry 'what do you mean only 3cms.....' :rotfl:she got into the breathing and never said another word until she said I want to push! It was bliss....she normally chatters non stop...
