Accident in someone elses car - query
I was recently involved in an accident while driving someon elses car. The owner had given me permission to drive it under the drive other cars extension of my policy. The accident was not my fault so my insurer have appointed an uninsured loss recovery company to get the repairs done by the 3rd party insurer. No claim is being made on my insurance.
My query is that when I renew next year, do I have to tell them about this accident even though I didnt make a claim and it didn't involve my own car?

Surely you have already informed your insurance company, so why would you need to remind them on renewal, if they have already been informed and it is on file?

You didn't ask that! You should answer any questions that a new insurer asks but I doubt if this incident would affect your quotation.

You'd have to inform any insurance company you get a quote from, as you've made a claim (albeit a no-fault claim). It shouldn't go against you as long as you suffer no financial loss. In other words, as long as the other insurance company pays up, you're in the clear. However, you do need to mention it.In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

Yes you do have to inform them. Not least that if you don't and have an accident, your insurance company can use nondisclosure as a reason to
refuse your claim.0 -
Always inform them, and when they ask for details I always put something like 'hit in rear by Third Party, costs recovered in full'. (assuming they have been!)0

It doesn't matter whether you claimed, and whether it was your car.
You are required to disclose any incident involving YOU.0
