so they cant tell me to ring their tech 0845 number? I tried all that before with my laptop and it cost a fortune and took ages before they would collect it to fix , I would rather let them take it and fix it

If you end up having to ring apple, have a look on the site saynoto0870 you should be able to get a generic number and if you have freephone calls evening and weekend ring them then at no cost.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

My son had the same problem. We went onto the apple website to request a return. They sent us the packaging to retun it & a phone number to request a courier to collect it. He arrived 20 minutes later! 3 days later we received a brand new touch. Totally brilliant.

This is one instance where, although the retailer has a legal duty to sort out the problem, you will actually be better off going straight to Apple. Their returns procedure is very good and generally much quicker than going via Curry's, who will simply use the same returns procedure.

Return it to store, we'll send it to some people called Regenersis who do our ipod repairs. They'll either repair it or send a new one back.
    Squirrel!
If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
    Now 20% cooler
  • Apple don't replace iPods with brand new ones, it will be a refurbished one. I found in the past that regenersis are pretty quick with iPod repairs, usually just a week to send it back.

I don't care really - it looks new & was all done with the minimum of inconvienience to me. Why would getting one repaired be any better?

Knew you'd be on the case - great job dude! :)
  • I bought an iPod Touch in October of 2008, in the summer holidays of 2009 (still in warranty), the earphone socket stopped working, went to Currys, they said they would send a bag to post to Regenersis (In Scotland), 3 days later, it arrived, sent it off, 3 days later a replacement was sent, that was broken too!!!!, went to Apple directly and they told me that currys have been told frequently to send customers to apple themselves I had a genius appointment, 15 minutes into the appointment, they gave me a new ipod.
