Faulty Van-What Next?

Options
Hi, I own a van that I bought from new from a dealer 2 1/2 years ago. I have had an intermittent fault with it pretty much from the start. I took the vehicle back to the dealers many times (80 days plus) and they have just not being able to solve the problem. They admit there is a fault, and to be fair have tried many things and always provided a courtesy vehicle, and have been as helpful has possible but the fault remains. What now?

What are my rights? Do I demand a new replacement van? or one of a similar age and mileage? How would I go about that? Do I need a Solicitor? An independent report? What?

Or do I just sell it and pass on the problem to someone else? It's still under warranty after all.

Have you only ever tried the same dealer? I had an problem with a Vauxhall Astra which one dealer was unable to fix in weeks of trying but was rectified by another Vauxhall dealer in a day!

Hi, yes I've tried another dealer with the same result.

Thanks for the reply but I'm not looking for help in fixing it, we are way beyond that. I need advice as to what my legal rights are in returning the van and getting a replacement.

Andy there's a dedicated motoring section on MSE - you could try asking for your thread to be moved.

Or a quicker solution would be to simply post a duplicate thread. There are some really knowledgable people in that section and I'm sure one of them will have an answer for you.

    Good luck.

Hi, thanks, but what i'm asking for are my consumer rights, and yes I've put the thread in the motoring section as well.
