Phone Call from Paypal

About 10 mins ago I had a phone call and it came up 'international' on the caller display, the american lady said she was from Paypal and asked if I had used my Paypal account today. I said I had not used it and asked her how much had been used, she told me 10 USD. She didn't ask any questions but said I should log into my Paypal account and change my password and they would sort out the problem with the 10 USD.
Now I am wary about logging on to my Paypal account, I wonder if someone can advise me whether I should log on and change my password or not. Thanks.

Deffo look, often a small amount taken like this is just a taster, at least it seems to be with credit cards. With a phone call they are not asking you to click a link, that would be dodgy.

OK - I have just logged into my Paypal account and the next screen that comes up says 'Security Measures' then asks me to verify my full bank account number and full credit card number. I don't want to do this unless I am certain it is right. Should I continue....

Wait until someone in the know comes on, it does sound a mit suspicious.

Thanks, I thought that it looked a bit funny. I will wait a while until I get some further advice.

Definitely do it IF you are convinced you're on the legit paypal site. Type in the paypal URL in your address bar. IGNORE any of your bookmarks to be on the safeside.

It looks like they've restricted your account because someone else has used it. The screen you're seeing is one of their standard "You think this is your account? Prove it" screens.
