Would you suggest we mention it in the interview and ask if we can increase our H/K allowance? If we could do this it would probably swallow any extra income DH might get.0 -
I would say you need to give it a try. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Also you need to put all the other things you left off and just explain why you left them off.
Good luck! post here first

totally agree with FYP. I filled in about 6 IPOQ'S cause i was unemployed, then employed, then unemployed. Each time i changed the figures.Since when can you spend £50(normal aprox allowance per person per wk)when on £64.30 JSA per person:rolleyes:,,so i just used to up or down my figures, not to avoid an IPA but according to my income. Lets face we we all live without cavair when we have too,as hard as it might be:rotfl:Free impartial debt advice available from: National Debtline - Tel: 0808 808 4000 | The Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) - Tel: 0800 138 1111 | Find your local Citizens Advice Bureau

Well we might have to live without caviar but I draw the line at cutting back the champagne. :rotfl:totally agree with FYP. The waiting may be nerve wracking Angie but its really not as bad as you think. You sound a bit like me that you're reluctant to put down the true prices because the OR will think they're too high - well put them down cause thats what things cost and the OR will be used to it. Don't feel guilty!

Thanks for the advice. I really thought it was vital to NOT show a deficit
If I had known otherwise I would have put down a higher/more realistic H/K allowance etc. I will put up an SOA soon for advice. I have reduced everything I possibly can since our income dropped so much, its been a shock losing £27k a year between us  BUT although I am scared we no longer have credit to fall back on the realisation that we dont owe anyone now is sinking in and I am looking forward to studying and working hard for our future. We have started to make plans and that is something we never would have done before BR, we sailed along feeling 'secure' in our jobs, earning what we could, always paying our debts.
Never for a minute really did I think redundancy and illness could turn our world on its head. Still to everyone who slates us BR's lets hope you never have to go through it. I strongly feel BR is not a choice you make, you go BR because you have no other choice.

Good to hear you're looking forward - very exciting!
