Wages on SOA query?

Hi
Just wondered if someone could help??
We went BR last Weds and on SOA put DH income down as what it was from Julys wage slip. Hes in a new job and July was the first month he received a full months pay. Now, his wage slip for August has just come in the post today and he has been paid approx £380 more than last month (a v nice suprise as we werent sure what his net fig would be!) Half of this is O/T and the rest is cos he is paid (hourly) for a basic 37.5 hr week so I guess varies on how long the month is?
My concern now is obviously the forms we filled in for BR last week has the Julys wage as net income. I had no idea how much O/T would be and in his job O/T is usually only available in the summer months. I had to slash our out goings to make it all balance. I didnt know if we should be ringing them up now to tell them we have been paid more than expected this month or do I just wait for the interview for DH to explain then? Being a new job we had only had the 1 months payslip to use.
Do you have a chance to give the OR a new SOA after BR or is the one on your original forms the one they will always refer to?
Sorry if post is a bit muddled sounding but hope someone can advise

Don't panic when the you have your OR interview you can advise of change income they will then calculate figures and set an IPA if there is a surplus of £99 however you will all so get another IPAQ form just before discharge to complete providing nothing has changed then IPA will stay the same, once IPA has been set and there are any changes in circumstances you have 21days to advise OR but has you are not at that stage you don't need to do anything.
Hope this helps0 -
Thankyou, but with the extra £380 in this months wages that will show as a surplus cos our original form had a 0 surplus. However this extra will not be guaranteed every month as O/T is not guaranteed and month length varies. If an IPA is set going on this surplus what happens if next month income is less again and we would struggle to pay an IPA?
Thanks0 -
you could ask the OR to wait 3 moths so that you can get an average income and assess the IPA at that time. It does not matter when it starts at it would last for 36 months from when it startsHi, im Debtinfo, i am an ex insolvency examiner and over the years have personally dealt with thousands of bankruptcy cases.

Explain at interview. You have one of 2 choices....either refuse overtime until discharged or continue and maybe have an IPA imposed. When you tell the OR at the interview they will normally ask for 3 months wage slips as you get them and then work out an average pay.DxFree impartial debt advice available from: National Debtline - Tel: 0808 808 4000 | The Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) - Tel: 0800 138 1111 | Find your local Citizens Advice Bureau

Why did you slash your outgoings on your SOA - it may seem difficult now to put them up.

Well. I thought that if you dared show a minus figure no matter how small on your SOA you could be refused BR
so was worried about that. I put my counciltax down as averaged over 12 months (£95) but we actually are paying £132 cos we have it over 10mths and they missed a collection a few mths back so they just re calculated the figure for us to pay over the rest of the year.
My housekeeping figure was £320 for a family of 4, I might get criticised for not being able to 'manage' on this but in reality with 2 hungry teens i am finding it tight, i also didnt account for haircuts as again would have made us have a minus.
Ok I realise that a minus figure would just show you could end up in debt again but I have just been offered a p/t job (not sure what earnings will be yet) and my DH can earn extra doing agency work if its available but this is not guaranteed. So i thought we could cover a small minus on our SOA.

My SOA showed a minus figure and my BR wasn't refused. Your housekeeping is far too low for a family of 4.

Thankyou FYP. I was afraid to take the chance showing a minus, i was probably stupid but i guess thats months of stress having an effect. That is why i am worried they will set an IPA that we could not afford?
Would I be allowed to increase our H/K allowance if my DH wages average out at a bit higher over the next couple payslips?
Thanks Angie x0 -
I would make a fresh SOA and submit it. Try it here first if you like. Put down everything - you can only try!
