Quite reasonable.
Make sure the guy / company is registered;
You should use a competent person for the work, links below
In Scotland:
Individuals registered;

I just had a 2 beds partly rewire and I paid £2700 for it in Greater London. Mine must be expenisve.0

Yep its a large company and registered .
going to go ahead and book them before they change their mind ,thanks0 -
oh just thought ,maybe price was + VAT ?!0

Sounds excellent to me. I paid about £3500 for my 3 bed cottage not so long ago & supplied my own lightfittings & also the sockets for the kitchen. This is London suburbs, so always more costly sadly.The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
That quote is fine.
Make sure you check the quality of the repairs (ie. plastering over wires that have been chased into walls) before paying the final sum. Electricians are notorious for leaving plaster repairs have finished. "Making good" is part of the job so don't let them convince you otherwise.0 -

I would have to agree and disagree
I don't do plastering - if you saw my efforts then you would know why
I quote the job slightly cheaper and give the client the numbers of a couple of good plasterers I know.
They do the plastering for a fair price and they ususally get more work out of it, so everyone's happy
Making good plaster is NOT part of my job, as I am an electrician, not a plasterer.baldly going on...0 -

Ditto, I'm good mates with an excellent plasterer. He does well out of my jobs and he looks out for stuff for me. In return he promises not to fill my back boxes with crap between first & second fix, lets me know if he's going to dot and dab rather than skim (so I can set boxes at the right depth) and is often nice to other electricians, in fact he's almost house trained!
Like you - I know my limits, I'm an electrician and he's a plasterer.0
