Travel Insurance (Credit Card type proof)

Hi all
Does anybody know which insurance policies provide a credit card type of proof of insurance along with all relevant telephone numbers etc contained thereon. I might be paranoid but I dislike the idea of just having a printout of an email stored in my luggage in my hotel room. I would feel better having the proof with me at all times and it is really not convenient to have to carry a policy document around whereever you go.
If anybody has any comments or advice I would appreciate it.
Many thanks
Richard

I don't know of one that does - but that's not to say there aren't any.
It doesn't sound like something worth paying extra for though. Just cut out a bit of paper/card and write the details on yourself. Problem solved. Well apart from the proof aspect.0 -
I bought some insurance earlier this year for a single trip and they provided that for around an extra £2 so it didnt cost much. Unfortunatelly when the trip was over I threw it away as it was then worthless. (So I cant remember which company it was). I now want to get annual cover. A piece of paper in my wallet will end up squashed and unreadable and would probably end up getting chucked when I do a clear out. A card is easy to keep and would be easily located by anybody who needs to do so. A piece of paper with numbers scrawled on it would likely be overlooked in that situation.0

If its that important to you, can you not find out who you were previously insured with from an old email or bank/credit card statement etc?0

That is a great idea. LOL, now why didnt I think of that. Thank you
I must be losing it

Blimey, thats two good ideas I've had on here in two days - I think I'd better have a lie down! :rotfl:
Please make sure that the policy meets your requirements, especially if you, any travelling companions, or any close relatives for whom you would need to cancel/curtail a trip have any pre-existing medical conditions. These need to be declared and approved for cover by insurers.
Apologies if you are already fully clued up about this but I would rather repeat myself a hundred times on this subject than have somebody be in a difficult situation because they weren't aware of this.0 -
There are some companies that have a credit card type card that comes with the policy or is designed to pop out of the policy booklet.
An easy way is to forward the email confirming you are covered to an email address such as hotmail which you can access anywhere in the world (With internet access obviously). It also sensible to just keep the emergency tele number and policy number in your wallet0 -
Found it! Insureandgo were the company I used last time. All is now sorted. Thats for your input folks.0
