Parking Ticket issued by G24

Hi, I'm having a few problems with a company called G24, don't know if anyone has heard of them before. Long story short - Parked at a retail park for 4 hours, they say parking is limited to 3 hours, I didn't see any of their notices when I parked up. Got sent the ticket for £50.00, reduced to £25.00 if paid within 14 days, appealed against it, gave photographic evidence, they say I still have to pay it. Phoned them, offered to pay in installments of £2.50 per week, they refused saying they couldn't accept anything below £5.00 per week. They said it would go to a debt management company if I could only afford such a small amount, so I felt forced to agree, but mentioned that if that happened, it would then go up to £50.00, was told that it would stay at £25.00. This morning I got a letter from them this morning and it states:-

"As this Parking Charge notice has remained unpaid for 14 days, it is no longer possible to pay the Parking Charge Notice at the reduced amount. A Final Notice will be sent within 28 days of this letter."

As stated before, I was under the impression that it was no longer in their hands, but in the hands of the debt management agency. Just wondering now, what do I do? Do I carry on and wait for the debt management agency to contact me, phone G24 and find out what's going on, or just ignore all correspondence completely? Any suggestions???

As you will have realised by now, contacting them and offering to pay anything was a big mistake. Just ignore everything from now on and pay them nothing - google "G24 parking" to find hundreds of examples of what a bunch of scammers they are.

I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.

As you have seen, any correpondence with a PPC leads to extra grief.

The way forward is to now ignore everything they send you.If you get worried post on here the letters they send you.

G24 don't do court, so all they have left is an attempt to try and frighten you into paying.

You could try reading some of the many, many posts on this forum first. You will see bargepole's advice is what nearly everyone recommends and your situation is covered by a great deal of posts.

Don't wait for lots of replies. Look at some of the other posts. Read some of them and be reassured.

    As per the above advice.
    Plus:
Do G24 have a credit licence ? I believe they need one to take that number of payments. If they do not then report them forthwith.
  • Have been in touch with them, they say the charge is still at £25.00, and they WILL accept payment @ £5.00 per month, but they want all 5 cheques sent together, each one post dated at monthly intervals, and they will deposit each cheque in turn as we reach that date. TBH, I feel like saying f-it and sending them nothing, can I do that????
