Civil Penalty Parking Notice

Last Friday I picked up a ticket whilst using K.F.C. car park. The reason for the ticket is that I did "Not use venue at time of parking". We did not purchase anything from K.F.C. or even enter the building, so this is true. Parking was for just under 1 hour I believe. The charge for using the car park was £60.00!

Before going into the scenario and uploading the images of the ticket/signs etc I wonder if it is worth fighting this and not paying? Any advice or help would be appreciated, thanks.

I have already asked the same question on the article discuscussion thread, which was the wrong place, very sorry.

Don't bother scanning and posting anything, it's completely unenforceable, ignore all letters and don't pay them a penny.

I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.

There must be 100 questions of a similar type on Private Parking tickets on this forum with 1000 answers all saying the same thing as bargepole.

Don't you like any of these answers?

I think all of these new posters must somehow think that their particular case is different. There certainly seem to be a lot of them around at the moment, don't there?

Yup. And the thing is that if they are really worried and fretting, 10 minutes scanning the posts on this forum would set their minds at rest much quicker.

And this is a motoring sub-forum and the wheel has been invented ! icon12.gif
  • I got worried the other day when I thought you'd all gone on holiday and left me to it. Every time I looked there was a new one asking basically the same question which got roughly the same answer.

TBH, I've seen so many over the last few weeks, I just feel a bit like I can't be bothered now.

I'm surprised they don't ticket after 30sec's, it is fast "food" you know.

  • Yeah great help guys, thanks for the sarcasm. There was me thinking this was a forum to ask questions for friendly advice.
I have actually read a lot of cases of parking tickets on here but I couldn't find anyone in the same scenario of not using the venue. Try engage your brain before posting or how about dont waste your time and dont reply to my question if you are tired of it. I've had a look at other posts and nobody else has got the same RUDE response.

Sustitute the word Rudness for dry humour .
You were given the correct advice in the first post after yours. There have been many posts over the last few days, all asking the same thing and all getting the same answer. You can understand the frustration of posters when the answer was there for the looking had the search button been used.
Even had you used the KFC and not just used the car park the advice would have been the same.
I don't think I'll bother to post on this thread again.
