Should I fix?

Hello,
I've just done a comparison for an electricty tariff and I think I will go with EDF (not the cheapest but the cheapest with the best customer service). It comes up with 'Online saver V2' but I've also noticed that there fixed tariff, 'Annual Fix v3' is the same rate.

I was just wondering if anyone thinks it'sworth fixing at this rate?

All the best

I think the consensus of opinion is that prices will go down instead of up, at least in the short term.

You will have to judge how good the deal is that you are looking at. Is it fixed for the duration, ie will not go up or down? Or some will go down with reducing energy prices but not up if there is a price increase.
Also remeber that deals ie non standard tariffs will have a cancellation fee (£50ish) if you decide to move supplier before the deal ends.

Only other thing I would say is what do I know. LOL. I'm still trying to work out a new deal for myself and my head is spinning!!

    Hello,
(not the cheapest but the cheapest with the best customer service).
The cynic in me believes that when a comparison website states 'best customer service' it means that the utility firm is paying the website the highest commision!!!!

For the past few years there have been many threads on the wisdom or not of fixing, and it is a gamble pure and simple.

In most cases the penalties for ending a fixed deal are not huge, and it may be worth paying them if prices did drop significantly. You are in effect gambling £30 or so per fuel.
