Collection of item

HI

I have sold an item on ebay for over £200 and the buyer is collecting but has paid by paypal.Am I safe to allow this or refund and ask for cash only?

  • I would not usually accept paypal for a collected item.
    If the item was too large to post then I may allow it, for a laptop or a mobile phone no way!
    I would insist that it is cash on collection or posted if paying with paypal.

    This is a real problem and the reason why I will no longer sell high end items that need collecting on ebay. If it can't be posted I don't sell it as whilst you can ask for cash on collection you cannot insist on it and a buyer has the right to use paypal. Obviously you have no worries if this is a genuine buyer, but it isn't those we need to be aware of.
