RP1 form questions

I was made redundant when my company became insolvent and I'm unsure about some of the things on this form can someonebody help me out please?
I cant link to the RP1 form for reference but typing RP1 form in google the first result gives you a PDF of it

Under name of employer would i put the name of the company or the director?

i can't remember the exact date i started working for the company (8 years ago now, 2 weeks after last day of secondary school) could i give a rough guess or would they pull me up on it? my old boss can't find the details.

It says they deduct money if you find a new job is there a time limit on this? its been a month and a half since i was made redundant and id hate to worry about accepting job and lowering my compensation.

im not sure what to do on this either, the booklet states i can claim for a basic award for unfair dismissal. on the form under the question asking if i want to claim for this it says please enclose a copy of the tribunal award claim form?
does this mean i have to take the directors of the insolvent company to a tribunal then send off my RP1 with a copy of the outcome of said tribunal?
under what circumstances am i entitled to this and is it worth doing this and do i have to do it now, id like to claim for redundancy/holiday pay/pilon/ sooner rather than later.

thank for any help you can offer on anything ive asked. cheers

  • The first port of call is the liquidator or administrator who is dissolving the company or managing its affairs.

A declaration of insolvency results from a creditor or the directors bringing a successful action against the company. Simply sending employees home and telling them the company is insolvent is not enough.

The reason I say this is that the Redundancy Payments office will not pay any outstanding wages or notice due if the company has not been through this process. The process is expensive.

Check on the website http://www.companieshouse.gov.uk/ for the details of your old company.

I'm not quite sure i understand what your saying, my ex collegues have already received their payouts (i phoned up the redundancy payments office, apparently haven't received my form so im sending a new one)

I checked the companies house website, it says it's in liquidation but doesn't give me any relevant information to help me fill out the form?
