You do realise the hardwork involved in having to constantly rewax floorboards, don't you? If the room has medium to heavy traffic, you may need to be putting down the wax every 2-3 months.

Is there any reason you don't want to seal them with a clear or tinted varnish or laquer? If done carefully they will look exactly the same as waxed boards would, only will have a protective coating & thus be very hardwearing.

If you're insistant on wax then go for a brand such as Briwax.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

I was skint when i first into my new and the carpets were awful smelly things so i took them up...sanded the floors down and used baby oil to varnish them..well to make them look nice!

I have to say it was 4 months ago now. and not only was in the cheapest way for me to do it (It cost about £10) for the entire house) and it still looks perfect now...no faffing about with re doing them.

the only reason i want wax is that a mate originaly had his vanished,he didnt like it then sanded the boards then waned them..he said they look alot better & said dont bother varnishing them..

as for baby oil..fair play but does it give them protection?
