Buying Software on eBay

Hey Guys, Ive seen a software listed on eBay and Im hoping to get it, ive bidded a reasonable price. there is only 1 day left on the bid. The software isnt the latest version, in fact its two versions old but it can still be picked up for around £150. I think the software had been given free with an expensive piece of equipment and the seller doesnt require the need for it so is selling it. If I was to win the bid, would it be ok to install and use this program or would it be considered as illegal? another thing, in the photo of the software the sticker with the serial code is viewable which gave me some concern but I still bidded anyway. What would happen if more then one person was using the same serial code? would I be entitled to use it considering I have the original copy?

I asume its an OEM as the seller has to sell hardware with it (ebay rules) You can install and use this program but if someone else has already registered with that code you will not be able to use it. The fact that you can read the code clearly (if you can) means anyone could use this to register some software, I would avoid.

Its not who has the original copy of the software that counts its who has the code as lots of software you can download demo versions then when you wish to buy all they need to do is email you the serial code.

If you were unscrupulous you could download it and just use the code, which is why you should not buy this under any circumstances. Seller must be an idiot and there's no way you should buy a product where absolutley anyone and their mother can get the serial code just from looking at the auction. Jesus...
