hello i signed up to e-on november last year with fixed rates from september and the contract was £28 a month gas and £78 a month electricity. But since the bills started they only take out £28 a month all together so when we phoned up around feb to march they told us that the agreement was only to take out £28 for gas and electricity and then pay the outstanding bill at the end of the year. We explained that was not true and put in a complaint which we have never had a reply. We phone up all the time to resolve this but never get anywhere each time.
Please can anyone help.

First of all, check that the switch for both fuels went through. If it didn't, you are probably still being billed/paying another supplier. If you have switched both fuels, hopefully, you have been putting aside the £78 a month not taken from your account.
You need to look back at your opening meter readings with eon in November and calculate how much you have used. Deduct the payments you have made and make sure you have the balance put aside.
Next, log on to your eon account and increase the DD. If you don't manage your account online, you can do this over the phone. You might want to consider online account management as this usually attracts a discount and it helps you keep on top of things.
Do make sure you're reading you meters and submitting the readings if they're estimated.0 -
i have been putting the money aside but they are saying we owe a lot more. i have the meter readings from when we switched so i will go onto there site and check these out thanks.
Is there anything else i can do about them changing my contract or mis selling me the one i have?0 -
Hi Ginny,
It sounds like there is a bit of confusion here
If you are on a fixed tariff, like FixOnline, then this means that your unit prices are fixed and will not increase or decrease, the Direct Debit can change to enable the payments to cover the amount of energy that you use.
Magentasue has made a good point, I would check to ensure both fuels have changed over to E.ON, if they have it sounds like only one of the Direct Debits has been set up.
I would request for your gas and electricity to be combined on to OneBill, this means that you will need only one payment to cover both gas and electricity, you can ask E.ON to calculate this for you.
Also make sure your account is billed up to your meter readings, if not ask for a revised bill to be produced.
You say you have been putting the money aside, if there is a balance, I would use this to clear the debt and then the monthly payments can just cover your usage.
It doesn’t really sound like there is miss selling here, but it does sound like one of the payment arrangements haven’t been set up properly.
If you need any more help, let me know.
