my old cat used to love getting into the airing cupboard- my sister didnt always remember to check for her when she locked the door! She also liked under my bed (was an enclosed bed but the material has a rip in it that she would get into)

Hagen (my beautiful new kitten) hasnt really got any hidey spots (how boring)
  • Best hiding place our two found when they were kittens was the cutlery drawer. Somehow they both got in there and managed to shut the drawer behind them. OH opened the drawer without knowing they were in there - gave him such a shock he pretty much screamed!!
    LOL that's so funny!

  • My cat had four kittens and from the outset was determined that they were NOTHING to do with her... She would stuff them in any random place she could and then come and sit on my knee- when I put her in the box with them to feed the look she gave me was priceless:rolleyes:

Anyway- she managed to stuff them in the drawer underneath the TV (small gap in the back). The drawer was completely full so I still don't know how she managed it. Cue a desperate half an hour looking for hidden kittens, until we opened the drawer a crack and saw eight tiny little paws- she'd lined them up on their backs and the poor things had just waited there to be found.

Hi Tractorgirl! Congrats on your little ones, they will provide endless entertainment for years to come. I got my two a year ago and they were the same as yours fitting into weird places but their favourite was behind the TV. We found that sellotape wrapped around so it's sticky side up helped as they hate it so literally within a day of putting it down they stopped going back there.

Still haven't been able to stop them scratching the sofa though, the fabric is too much like a scratching post.

When we got Noodles he kept getting lost becuase he was small enough to fit into all sorts of tiny spaces. Even when we tried to confine him to one room to start with he still managed to hide under/in things. It didn't help that he is a black kitty, so its very hard to see him in dark places. He didn't hide behing a cooker though, he just did a wee out of fright when he took him out of the cat box.

My OH once phoned me in tears because he couldn't find Noodles, he was convinced that Noodles had ran out of the front door and got lost when he was unloading the shopping. After a frantic search Noodles was found clingging to a pair of jeans in the wardrobe :rotfl:.

After a few weeks they will start to have special places they like to hide and sleep, it makes it aa lot easier because if you can't see them they are usualy in one of their fav places.
