Can I still claim??

I wanted to claim back bank charges from the Halifax. I was in the process of doing this and they sold my debt to a debt collection agency. Can I still claim even though they've done this?

If he is in the process then the fact he might have ordered statements COULD potentially be a sign of reclaiming(since these days no one seems to want them for anything else. So could that first letter be regarded as the debt being disputed?

I suspect assigned since he was looking into it PRIOR to the DCA involvement
