Newbie starting case with HSBC

Hi all
I am a newbie to the site and just wanted to check some details. I would appreciate any help/info you can give.
I have just started a case against the HSBC and called them requesting details of all the charges on my 2 accounts (joint and personal). In asking for them he did say it can take 40 days. How long do you think they will actually take?
I asked for a quick run down of the charges and I am ashamed to say it amounted to just over £1900 for the last 12 months! He didn't have access to the full 6 yr details on his computer but assured me full details would be posted. I would envisage the full total to be c£5k as during this time I have been made redundant twice and without savings I was/am in trouble.
I have a loan with HSBC and also Cahoot, I have a steady job but I dont seem to earn enough to cover my costs. I have had the cahoot payment 'bounced' twice in the last 2 months and have had direct debits returned too(all are now up to date following pay day). I have recently got rid of my car and other cut backs have now left me down by about £100 per month. I am a home owner and have the usual bills to pay.
Do you think I will be able to qualify under the hardship claim system?
If I do qualify how long do you envsage a claim taking to be settled bearing in mind I only just started today?
Any help you can give would be much appreciated.
Many thanks in advance.

The charges details should go back to 27th July 2001.

My gut feeling on this one is that it may not qualify since you do not appear to be in arrears on priority debt arrears(mortgage/rent, council tax, utilities). Having said that, ask them the question because the last 12 months have clearly been difficult.
If I do qualify how long do you envsage a claim taking to be settled bearing in mind I only just started today?
From the first letter once you have the list of charges then possibly 56 days but even then and even if you are in financial hardship the bank does not have to refund even 1p of the claim.
Any help you can give would be much appreciated.
Many thanks in advance.0 -

Whether you submit a Subject Access Request - SAR or request statements, the bank are entitled to respond with the info. in 40 days. You must pay £10 also. Although HSBC returned the £10 I put in the envelope.0
