Stay away from them. Even if they are regulated by the MOJ then it does not mean it is not something you can do yourself. They should not ring you and cold call although they get away with it by saying you actually allowed your data to be passed on from a previous finance you had.

Can I ask - did your mortgage have single premium PPI's on them?
  • Hi , thankyou for replying i don't know i really can't remember but they had all the information dating back to 1991 which i had forgotten what should i do then ? or how can i find out this information and thankyou very much for getting back to me sam x:j

I think this is best answered by dunstonh who knows about mortgage PPI better. As this was going back to 1991 also you would have trouble claiming that far back I think or getting information from them either. Also did you pay a single premium PPI? Perhaps you could ring your mortgage company and ask maybe??? If I see dunstonh online I will try to bump the post for you.

a company called me at home today

Which is a breach of ministry of justice rules. So, before they even start they are breaking the rules.
telling me my mortgages that i have had since 1991 have had ppi with them and i can reclaim all monies back.

Which is totally incorrect. Most mortgage PPI plans have been set up fine and are valid. Its only the single premium ones that are considered bad.

To be honest, cold calling like that and telling you a load of rubbish as he has suggests you are worth steering well clear of him.

    The bump worked :)

Basically, the rule with mortgages is that if it was single premium then its going to be a mis-sale in over 90% of cases. If its regular monthly payments then that is how it should be set up and is not a mis-sale as long as you were eligible at the point of sale and for the foreseeable future. So, if yours is going out by monthly payment then you have little or no chance of success on a complaint and paying someone money to send in a letter that takes 30 seconds to prepare with little or no chance of success is a complete waste of money. Its also the sort of thing the MoJ are trying to stop the dodgy claims companies from doing.

I would write to both companies and ask for details of whether you had a single premium attached to them. Send it recorded delivery so you have a proof and when you get their replies then post up and someone will be along to help.
