Can you explain the process that you did so that it might help others?

For example, did you have to complete and income and expenditure form?
Where did you send your letters?
How long did the process take?
I have not worked for NatWest Bank since February 2009

step 1 i send the letter on mse website step 1

step2 used the caculator to calculate interest on mse

step 3 sent the hardship letter and also sent a letter explaining how i got into money problems in my situation and what i needed from them to get me out of this problem i also sent a copy of my p60 to prove low income and credit card statement i was paying for food on as i had no money left for food after i had paid bills as i was paying around £150 a month extra due to arrears

step 4 did nothing for 4 weeks then after that called them daily to chase it expaining every time my situation until it got put on the bosses desk to take into the panel who decide.

i was told by the abbey that they have a pannel who decide it is not just one person. once they have made the decison they work out what % to give you based on your personal situation. their decision is then checked my in check and your letter is sent. if found the abbey team very understanding and helpful and even though i was calling daily hounding them.

She'd probably got a responce from Abbey's Milton Gate West office in Milton Keynes - although their Bradford office usually deal with the initial handling of SARs, request for statements, I/E forms.
